*More coming soon*

I met Mallory about a year ago just taking her afternoon stroll through Romare Bearden park. She's been living on Charlotte's streets off and on for over seventeen years. As she tells it "Life keeps ignoring me!" A native of the Queen city.

Mallory has such a beautiful spirit and an intelligence about her, I find refreshing. She hasn't allowed the streets and its sometimes hard conditions - difficult situations steal her mind or love of life like so many homeless individuals. From time to time I'll go and take my friend to lunch over at the 7 Eleven. A place where she can have a meal, rest and keep a watchful eye on her meager belongings she carries with her. Mallory's dream is to someday go to Nashville, TN. She loves music and the park offers musicians and musical performances during the spring and summer. It's why she keeps coming to the park.
