Shon Keane is a yoga and mindfulness instructor who is also an award-winning independent filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Media Arts at City University of New York. They are currently working on several film projects including Pink, White & Blue, a documentary that explores gender identity and what it means to be queer/non-binary.
Shon discovered the work of Reverend Debra J. Hopkins while researching the impact of trans-exclusionary laws on people experiencing homelessness in the United States. Inspired by her work, Shon has sought to leverage their video skills to help raise awareness and funds for There’s Still Hope. They are committed to amplifying the voices of transgender people of color and supporting Debra in her advocacy for social justice.
